VSICON 2025 – Abstract Submission Guidelines
We invite abstract submissions for VSICON 2025 across four categories. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submission.
Abstract Categories
- Award Paper – Category 1 (Young Vascular Surgery Trainees and Young Consultants aged 45 or less)
- Award Paper – Category 2 (Consultants aged 46 and above)
- Free Paper
- ePoster
General Submission Guidelines
- Submission: Abstracts may be submitted online only.
• Language: All abstracts must be submitted in English using Arial font, size 11.
• Originality: Abstracts must contain original material.
• Submission Limit: A maximum of two submissions are allowed as presenting author (co-author on other papers is permitted).
• Topics: Abstracts can be submitted under the following headings:
– Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
– Vascular Access
– Venous Thrombosis
– Varicose Veins
– Lymphatic Disease
– Peripheral Arterial Disease
– Thoracic and Thoracoabdominal Aneurysms
– Carotid Disease
– Diabetic Foot and Wound Care
– Upper Limb Ischemia
– Miscellaneous
– Case Reports
– Artificial Intelligence

Abstract Format for Free Paper and ePoster
Structured Abstract (Maximum 300 words)

Selection and Presentation
• Abstracts previously presented at major conferences or already published/accepted will not be considered.
• All abstracts will undergo peer review by independent experts.
• Authors will be notified of acceptance by email.
• The presenting author must register, attend the congress, and present in person.
Award Paper Category 1: Young Vascular Surgery Trainees and Young Consultants (≤ 45 years)
1. Presenting author must be a VSI member.
2. Age limit: 45 years or less.
3. Abstract submission deadline: July 31, 2025.
4. Presentation: 5 minutes + 2 minutes discussion.
5. Selected authors must submit a draft article per IJVES guidelines by August 31, 2025. Failure to submit will result in transfer to the Free Paper session.
6. Top 3 papers will be announced at VSICON 2025. Awards will be granted only after submission of a full article to IJVES within 2 months and editorial board approval.
7. If any top paper forfeits, the next ranked paper will be considered.
Award Paper Category 2: Consultants (46 years and above)
1. Presenting author must be a VSI member.
2. Abstract submission deadline: August 15, 2025.
3. Presentation: 5 minutes + 2 minutes discussion.
4. Top 3 papers will be announced at VSICON 2025. Awards will be granted only after submission of a full article to IJVES within 2 months and editorial board approval.
5. If any top paper forfeits, the next ranked paper will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Member of VSI
• Less than 40 years of age
• Must have a Guide of Minimum 15 years of Vascular Surgery Practice
• Project should have been approved by the IEC of the Institution where it is carried out
• No objection certificates from the HOD/Head of the Institution for the candidate
• Topic of Interest not pursued / published elsewhere
• Final Year Mch/DNB candidates are not eligible to apply.
Terms and Conditions:
• Must Fulfill the eligibility criteria
• 25% of the Grant sanctioned initially
• 50% of the Grant to be sanctioned in the interim period after 6 months of Research
• Balance 25% of the Grant on completion
• All vouchers /invoices/receipts to be submitted to VSI in originals at the end
• Research Paper will be the sole proprietary of the VSI. VSI has the rights to publish in IJVES.
• Research paper final report to be presented by the candidate during Annual VSICON on completion after which it will be published in IJVES. The candidate has no rights to present/publish on the Research Topic in any other Conference/Journal in part / Interim report / Final report or under any other title.
• The candidate receives the Grant from VSI. Hence he is bound to VSI only, which has the sole rights on this research and the reports. In the event of discontinuation of the research, it is the responsibility and liability of the candidate to reimburse the Grant amount sanctioned to him completely.
• Research Grant Awarded to one candidate will sign a Mou with VSI and don’t have the rights to transfer to another candidate of his own free will.
• Applications to be submitted by ………………. There will be a selection by the Research Grant Committee; which will go through all the applications.
• The selected applicants will present in Annual VSICON Research Grant Award Session, for final selection.
• The decision of the Research Grant Committee and / or the Judges will be final. The names of the selected candidates will be announced in the Annual General Body Meeting by the President – VSI.
• Once awarded neither the Title/Topic of research nor the candidates for the Topic will be changed.
• The submitters will be notified regarding the decision by the October 10, 2024 through e-mail.
